Festive and Inviting Christmas Front Door Décor

The holiday season is a time for celebration and family gatherings. Your front door is the first thing guests see when visiting, so make sure it's festive and inviting! Here are my favourite decorations to spruce up your home this holiday season.

Your front door is the first thing guests see when they come over, so make sure it's festive and inviting!

First, make sure there's plenty of lighting for visibility. If you're using candles, place various sizes in a lantern. Lanterns come in traditional, rustic, and contemporary designs. You can also use battery-operated lights or string lights to illuminate your home—they are lovely stung on a cedar shrub and look beautiful at night!

Secondly, add your own personality. Various items, such as a vintage sled or a basket with greenery and birch logs, can make a beautiful and exciting display. Other things that will add to your personality during this festive season include a welcoming wreath, fresh garland, ribbons, and bells!

Welcoming Wreaths

Wreaths serve as a welcoming sign to your home, and they can be hung on the front door where everyone will see it when they walk up to your home. Wreaths are

available in many different sizes and shapes; you'll want one that suits the style of your house best. For example, if you already have a more minimalist aesthetic that includes a few colours, consider getting an all-white wreath with silver accents. This will tie everything together nicely while also adding interest thanks to its shape and texture difference from other decorations around it (i.e., pinecones). However, if yours is more rustic, consider getting something made from pinecones instead--they work well since people associate them with nature. Or choose a fresh greenery wreath that can be decorated with berries, ribbon, and even battery-operated fairy lights. "Make sure that the wreath you choose fits in with the overall look of your home's decor.

  • Hang the wreath at eye level so everyone can see it easily!

  • My favourite is a fresh greenery wreath that mixes different greenery and holly berries.

Fresh Evergreen Garland

Fresh cedar garland is a festive addition to your front door. Cedar garland is a natural choice for the holidays: It's green and complete, just like the season! It's beautiful with a few pinecones attached, or, if you prefer something more traditional, add ribbon and white mini-lights that will glow through the cedar branches.

Accessorize with Ribbon

A ribbon can easily add colour or texture to your door. For example, you can use ribbon to add colour and texture to garlands and other decorations on your front door. Ribbon comes in many different colours and styles. Choose one that is suitable for your overall Christmas decor. I also like to look for wired ribbons. This will have embedded wire on each side to allow for shaping.

Harmonize with Bells

Bells symbolize harmony and are regarded as protective symbols. Bells are one of those classic Christmas decorations you can use in several ways. You can hang them on your door or around the front door. They also work as a wreath or decorations made from greenery and berries.

Whether you're looking for a holiday wreath to hang on your door or want something more decorative, plenty of options are available. Even if you only have a little time or money for decorating, don't worry; there are many simple ways to make your front door look festive and welcoming for the season.
